Education: Mississippi State University

Although Veterinary Medicine has always been my first love, it was not my first career choice.  I worked for several years as a Respiratory Therapist in the Hamilton area before going back to school. I graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine, and, during that time, worked in several practices in Ontario and Alberta.

I came back home to Ontario in 2000. I have been surrounded by farm and companion animals all my life, and currently own 2 cats and 2 dogs.  Veterinary Medicine is an exciting field! The technological advancements that have occurred in the last 10 years, and that continue to occur, make this a fascinating career. I have an extra special interest in Heartworm Disease, Public Health, and Pet Nutrition, areas which seem to cause confusion. Our pets have a tremendous impact on our lives and our community, and I enjoy the challenges I face every day.
